Amit Gupta

MD, FACS

Dr. Gupta is board certified in ophthalmology and fellowship trained in vitreo-retinal surgery. After almost 30 years in the United States he is returning to his home in Toronto to be closer to his Family. He completed medical school from Hahnemann University School of Medicine (now part of Drexel University) with many awards. His ophthalmology residency was from The Eye and Ear Institute at University of Pittsburg. A surgical retina fellowship was completed from Crozer-Chester Hospital in Philadelphia. During his fellowship Dr. Gupta helped developed the MAVE�a Multi-Axis Vision Evaluator. Dr. Gupta had a private practice in the Poconos, in eastern ennsylvanian and was chairman of the Dept. of Ophthalmology at the Pocono Health System and the Eye-Trauma surgeon for St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. Dr. Gupta was a Principal Investigator in human trials for Lucentis and its use in Wet Macular Degeneration. Prior to starting his career in medicine, Dr. Gupta worked in the Silicone Valley as a computer engineer. He holds a degree in computer engineering from McMaster University and patents in both engineering and medicine.
