Clare Halleran

Dr. Clare Halleran is a private practice owner in Clarenville, Newfoundland. Dr. Halleran is a native of Newfoundland but completed her undergraduate degree at Acadia University in Nova Scotia and her Optometry Doctorate the Southern California College of Optometry. During her clinical externships, Dr. Halleran worked with Virginia Eye Consultants under the supervision of Dr. Walter Whitley and Dr. John Sheppard where she gained exceptional experience in the treatment of anterior segment disease, which grew into passion for the treatment of ocular surface disease.� Since entering private practice 10 years ago, Dr. Halleran has lectured across the country helping others garner skills and confidence to treat ocular surface disease. She has presented a number of posters at both ARVO and the American Academy of Optometry meeting on the topic of meibomian gland morphology, as well as the interaction of allergens and make-up on ocular surface disease. Dr. Halleran is the current Chairperson with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Optometry and is an active member of the Clarenville Rotary Club. In her spare time, Dr. Halleran spends time with her partner, Ian, on their farm and apiary taking care of her goats, chickens and honeybees.
