Dan DeAngelis

MD, FRCSC

Dr. Dan DeAngelis completed his medical school and ophthalmology training at the University of Toronto. After residency, he undertook a one-year Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the University of Toronto. Dr. DeAngelis was then awarded the important E.A. Baker Fellowship Award from the C.N.I.B. to further pursue his interests in trauma and oncology through a two-year fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. DeAngelis returned to Toronto in 2002 and joined the academic faculty of the University of Toronto, Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences. He is also an appointed staff surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital. His practice is limited to surgery of the orbit, eyelids, and lacrimal systems in children, with a special interest in trauma and oncology. He has published numerous articles in the peer-reviewed literature, has lectured on all aspects of ophthalmic plastic surgery and has taught courses in advanced techniques in facial surgery at international meetings. In addition to helping train SickKids Paediatric Ophthalmology fellows, he is one of the few members of the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is also a preceptor for the Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the University of Toronto.
