Myrna Lichter

MD, FRCSC

Dr. Lichter was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and received her undergraduate and medical degrees there. She completed my ophthalmology residency at University of Toronto in 1983 and received her fellowship in 1984. She completed a one year fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology at AFIP in Washington, DC under the supervision of Dr. Lorenz Zimmerman and Dr. Ian MacLean. Upon her return to Toronto, she started practice in medical ophthalmology, which she has pursued until now. Her special interest has always been in vulnerable populations, whether it be her clinic for HIV patients in 2000, homeless patients in 2010, to the present and more recently Indigenous homeless patients. She has an ongoing interest in social determinants of health, as well as a side interest in ocular complications of systemic medications.
