Angela Kyveris, OD
Dr. Angela Kyveris completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo. She stayed at the university and went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree with honours from the School of Optometry and Vision Science. Dr. Kyveris furthered her education with an internship in ocular disease at the Omni Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland.
With a keen interest in refractive surgery, Dr. Kyveris currently works for LASIK MD, Canada’s largest laser vision correction provider. Her work there includes performing preoperative consultations to determine patient candidacy. For several years, she has monitored and assisted patients who have undergone Standard and Advanced Custom Wavefront LASIK and PRK, as well as All-Laser LASIK. She has extensive experience with cataracts and the progressive eye disease keratoconus; both diagnosing the eye diseases and managing patients post-operatively.
In addition to her work at LASIK MD, Dr. Kyveris works at Sanderson Optometry, where she provides a full range of optometric services to patients from contact lens fittings to managing ocular diseases. She is also proud to have volunteered at the F.I.S.H. Eye Clinic in Kingston, Jamaica, providing eye care to local residents in need. Dr. Kyveris’ volunteer work in Jamaica earned her an Honourary Volunteer Award from the Foundation of International Self Help Development.
Dr. Kyveris has done comprehensive research on the subject of ocular prostanoid receptors. She has published posters and abstracts on the subject as well as a paper in the journal Molecular Vision.
Her academic accomplishments include nominations for the University of Waterloo Alumni Gold Medal for Academic Excellence as well as the Governor General’s Academic Gold Medal for a Master’s Program.
