In the past, fitting conventional PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) hard lenses was a specialized skill that had a success rate of less than 50% as a result of frequent secondary complications. Although many people wear today’s soft lenses with perceived success, all patients should be carefully monitored for minor changes resulting from over-wear or other pathologies. This correspondence course simplifies the process of clinical diagnosis and the subsequent clinical management of complications secondary to contact lens wear.
