How Dry Eye Disease Impacts Vision and Refraction
Discover the disease and complexities of dry eyes and its impact on the refractive status of the eye. This course will review the anatomy and physiology of the eye and tear film, as well as symptoms, diagnosing, testing and available treatments for dry eye disease.
The Magic of Patient Scheduling
This course will provide an understanding for the need of scheduling oversight, schedule training and proper scheduling reviews. The importance of schedule management will be emphasized and examples of proper schedule management will be provided.
The Ultimate Practice
This course will provide optometric assistants with an understanding of the requirements for a thriving practice. Key and critical elements within an ophthalmic practice, that are required for an efficient practice, will be reviewed.
Cataracts: Premium IOLs and How They Work
This course will assist optometric assistants in explaining cataracts and how premium IOLs work to the patient. This course will cover the need to obtain a good case history and efficient testing procedures in determining patient eligibility for premium IOLs. Techniques on how to establish dialog with patients who are nervous about the procedure and how to put them at ease about the process will be discussed. Attendees will also learn about different lens types that are currently available.
Hands-On Skills Workshop
This interactive and hands-on workshop will provide optometric assistants with an understanding of the pre-screening process. Scenarios to provoke conversation amongst the attendees to answer the question of ‘what next’ when screening patients, will be included. This workshop will cover case history, visual acuity, pupillary response, cover testing, muscle-H testing, confrontation fields and more.
