PROGRAM AT A GLANCE
Wide Opportunities for Narrow Angles: MIGS and Beyond
Dr. Samuel Dresner, MD
Dr. Beata Lewandowska, OD, MS
Angle-closure glaucoma (ACG) can result from various underlying pathological conditions. Accurate diagnosis of the underlying cause, beginning with gonioscopy, is essential for targeted intervention. This presentation will review the mechanisms leading to angle closure and evidence-based management strategies for patients across the spectrum of angle-closure glaucoma. It will also cover the major minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS), comparing and contrasting them with traditional filtration surgeries in terms of risks, target IOP reduction and the optometrist's role in perioperative management.
