PROGRAM AT A GLANCE
The Unintended Consequences of HIgh Myopia and Other Interesting Things
Dr. Mark Dunbar, OD, FAAO
This course explores the unintended consequences of high myopia across the lifespan, integrating clinical evidence with real-world case studies to illuminate how progressive axial elongation reshapes ocular biomechanics and the effects on the posterior segment. Learners will examine the spectrum of posterior-segment complications, including myopic tractional maculopathy and myopic choroidal neovascularization. Through case studies and imaging, this course will discuss the importance of early detection and interdisciplinary management strategies to mitigate vision-threatening outcomes in highly myopic patients.
