AI and the Future of Vision Care

This course will prepare opticians for an AI-driven future, which is transforming eye care at rapid speed. We start with the basics of understanding how computer systems now perform tasks that once required human intelligence, explore the evolution from today's generative AI to tomorrow’s agentic systems that work independently, explore some of the latest AI healthcare systems and cover ethical considerations including AI bias, privacy concerns and maintaining clinical judgment.

Myopia Management and Proper Dispensing of Lenses

This course will equip opticians with essential skills to combat the growing myopia epidemic. Attendees will learn proper dispensing techniques for Health Canada-approved myopia control lenses and understand how these lenses actually work. Attendees will master the art of patient education and learn to address safety concerns while emphasizing Health Canada approval. We will go over follow-up protocols, because consistent wear is crucial.
