Outdoor Light: Understanding Risks, Long-Term Impacts and Prevention

This lecture will examine the long-term effects of cumulative sun exposure including premature skin aging, immune suppression and eye diseases such as cataracts and macular degeneration. This lecture will also discuss the impacts of uncontrolled outdoor glare on vision and visual performance including driving and sports. This lecture will also present effective strategies for minimizing harmful sunlight exposure including sunglasses, sunscreen use, protective clothing and behavioural modifications.

Understanding Prism in Eyeglass Lenses - A Guide for Opticians

Prism lenses play a key role in correcting eye misalignment. This course will cover the basic optical principles of prisms including their purpose, types and tolerances. This course will also review how to communicate effectively with patients about prism use, troubleshoot common issues and understand the adaptation process.
